Five years on

The scars are slowly fading, but the memory will always be there.
It’s hard to think that things were so different then, than I could ever be more than I was back then.

Five years ago tonight I tried to end my life.
I would like to say that I’m past all that, but something like this…it never leaves you.
I live in fear that one day I will be that boy again.
The one that was too afraid to ask for help, the one that couldn’t see any way out, the one that was drowning in the darkness.
